Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data Ezer collects, why, who can see it, and how you can delete it. Ezer is operated by SkillRev ("we", "us"). If you have a question, write to ezer@skillrev.dev.
What we collect
Account
Your email address. We use it to sign you in with a one-time code and to send you the emails described below. We do not use passwords.
Profile
What you choose to tell other members: your name, date of birth, gender, city and country, occupation, marital status and whether you have been married before, whether you have children and whether you are open to a partner with children, and your answers about your faith, your church and denomination, your church involvement and what you hope for in marriage.
Photos
The photos you upload. We store resized copies and a blurred copy of each one. We delete the original file once the resized copies are made.
Pastor reference
The name and email address of the pastor you name, and your pastor's answer. Your pastor's answer is used only to verify you.
Activity in the app
Connection requests you send, receive or dismiss, profiles you save, your messages and conversations, reports you make and members you block.
Device and usage
A push notification token and your device platform (iOS or Android), so we can send notifications you have switched on. A label for each signed-in device, so you can see your sessions. Records of how the app is used (for example, which screens are opened), which help us fix problems and improve the app.
Sensitive information
Your religious beliefs, your photos and your marital history are sensitive. We collect them only because you choose to put them on your profile, and we use them only to run the matchmaking service. You can change or remove them at any time.
Who can see your information
- Other members see your profile, with your age rather than your date of birth and only the city of your church. Members who are not yet verified see only your first photo; your other photos are blurred for them. Your email address is never shown to other members.
- Members you connect with can exchange messages with you.
- Your pastor sees your name and the reference request you sent them.
- Our team can access account data to verify pastors, handle reports, and keep the service safe.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not show advertising.
Service providers
We use these companies to run Ezer. They process data only on our instructions.
- Amazon Web Services, Mumbai region (India): our servers, database, photo storage and email sending.
- Cloudflare: delivering photos quickly and securely, and our domain's DNS.
- Expo: delivering push notifications to your phone.
- Google Firebase: hosting this website.
Emails we send
All email from Ezer is about your account or a request involving you: sign-in codes, pastor reference requests and reminders, the outcome of your reference, confirmation that your account was deleted, and, for pastors, invitations and account updates. We do not send marketing email. If an email to your address bounces permanently or is marked as spam, we stop sending to that address.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app (Profile → Settings → Delete account) or on the web. When you do:
- Your profile is wiped and hidden from other members straight away, and your photos are deleted.
- Your pending requests are cancelled and your conversations are ended.
- Your account record is permanently deleted 30 days later.
Some information is kept after deletion:
- Messages you sent remain in the other person's conversation history.
- If another member reported you, we keep a minimal record of your account and the report for safety reasons.
- Usage records are kept but are no longer linked to you.
- If email to your address bounced or was marked as spam, we keep the address on a do-not-send list so we never email it again.
If you start signing up but do not finish, and do not open the app for 30 days, we delete your partial account in the same way.
Age
Ezer is only for adults who meet the legal minimum age for marriage where they live. In India, that is 21 for men and 18 for women. We check your date of birth when you sign up.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Photos are served through signed links, and sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to limit who can access it.
Your rights
You can access and correct your information in the app, and delete your account at any time. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can also ask us for a summary of the data we hold about you, withdraw your consent, and raise a grievance. To do any of these, write to ezer@skillrev.dev. We will reply within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
